Our client, a well‑established

manufacturing company in North York , is seeking an experienced

Contract Controller

to support their finance function during a critical period. This Controller role is being recruited on a

contract basis

and is ideal for a hands‑on financial leader with strong manufacturing and operational accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and month‑end close

Lead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial close processes

Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with ASPE

Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variances

Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies

Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and banking partners

Improve financial reporting, processes, and controls as required

Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support operational decision‑making

Required Qualifications

7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience





Previous experience as a Controller or Senior Finance Manager

Strong background in

manufacturing accounting

Hands‑on experience with cost accounting

Hands‑on experience with inventory management

Hands‑on experience with variance analysisHands‑on experience with month‑end close

Advanced proficiency in

MS Excel

Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar strongly preferred)

Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally

Location: North York, ON

Work model: On‑site or hybrid (based on operational requirements)
