Branion Williams Recruiting Inc. is seeking experienced Family Law Associates on behalf of an established and growing family law boutique in the northern GTA.
This is an excellent opportunity for family lawyers who enjoy sophisticated, hands-on practice and are looking for greater autonomy, meaningful client responsibility and the opportunity to play an important role in the continued growth of a successful firm.
The firm’s practice encompasses the full range of family law matters, including parenting and decision-making, child and spousal support, property division, domestic contracts, and complex financial and litigation matters. Lawyers work collaboratively with experienced practitioners and support professionals while assuming meaningful responsibility for their own files.
The firm is interested in speaking with experienced family lawyers at different stages of their careers—from mid-level associates looking to further develop their practice with strong mentorship to senior lawyers capable of independently managing sophisticated matters and contributing to the development of more junior team members.
The firm values an inclusive workplace and wants lawyers who are like-minded, but not single-minded—people who share a commitment to excellence and client service while bringing different experiences, perspectives and approaches to best serve clients and help propel the firm forward.
The ideal candidates will bring:
- 3+ years of post-call family law experience in Ontario
- Experience with both contested and negotiated family matters
- Strong advocacy, drafting, analytical and negotiation skills
- The ability to independently manage files and client relationships appropriate to their level of seniority
- Sound judgment and a practical,
client-focused approach
- A team-oriented and collegial approach to practice
The firm offers competitive compensation, benefits, flexibility including hybrid/remote work options, strong administrative and law-clerk support and genuine opportunities for professional growth and increased responsibility.
For more senior candidates, an existing client following would be welcomed but is not required. The firm recognizes the importance of trust and continuity in the lawyer-client relationship, particularly in ongoing or contentious family matters, and the sensitivities that can arise when a lawyer changes firms. Any transition would be approached thoughtfully, with a view to minimizing disruption to clients and respecting applicable professional obligations.
The firm is also expanding its law clerk and administrative team. An established lawyer–clerk team interested in exploring a move together would be welcomed.
