IntroductionWe're hiring a Project Manager for our global mining client to join their team! You will be responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of minor and sustaining underground infrastructure projects supporting the asset. The position is primarily site-based in a remote rural location east of Saskatoon, with site accommodation available. The intended contract duration is 12 months.ResponsibilitiesDefine project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with operations, engineering, and maintenance stakeholdersDevelop detailed project scopes of work, including technical requirementsIdentify project constraints, risks, and constructability considerationsDevelop Class 2 cost estimates, schedules, and execution strategiesPrepare documentation required to advance projects through internal stage-gate processesSupport procurement and contract award activities, including preparation of RFP scopes, review of vendor proposals, and alignment with approved budgetsCoordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities supporting underground conveyor and infrastructure design, including mechanical, structural, electrical and controls, and civil/underground infrastructureFacilitate design reviews and ensure alignment with operational, safety, and maintainability requirementsManage and finalize partially completed engineering deliverables, including layouts, equipment specifications, installation methodologies, and design packagesIdentify long‐lead materials and associated procurement requirementsInventory existing materials and assess availabilityDevelop procurement strategies for conveyor systems, structural components, and supporting infrastructureCoordinate with supply chain teams to prepare bid packages, evaluate proposals, award purchase orders,
and manage long‐lead itemsEnsure timely delivery of materials aligned with project schedulesDirect construction activities with support from Project CoordinatorsManage contractors on site, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity objectives are achievedMaintain cost control throughout execution, including forecasting and variance reportingLead weekly contractor coordination meetingsResolve field issues in collaboration with design teams and operationsTrack productivity and unit rates to support ongoing and future estimatesImplement project‐specific health, safety, and environmental management systemsEnsure compliance with legislative, organizational, and site standardsConduct site inspections, attend toolbox talks, and participate in incident investigationsAct as the primary interface with project and operations teamsProvide regular reporting on schedule, cost, quality, and riskMaintain transparent communication regarding scope changes and emerging risksSupport engagement with regulatory bodies and third‐party reviewers as requiredCompile as‐built drawings, turnover packages, and lessons learnedRequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mining, or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 7 years in project managementOR Engineering Technologist or Technical Diploma with a minimum of 12 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 7 years in project managementStrong commitment to safety and operational excellenceExperience managing small to medium‐sized projects or workstreamsExperience preparing technical reports, documentation,
and presentationsStrong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, cost control, and resource planningStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in cross‐functional, multidisciplinary teamsKnowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and safety standardsExperience with risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and continuous improvement practicesStrong organizational, planning, and prioritization skillsExperience managing mine infrastructure projectsAbility to manage multiple project phases simultaneouslyProven ability to build strong working relationships across operations, engineering, and contractor teamsEffective communication and facilitation skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and align stakeholdersFamiliarity with underground mining infrastructureUnderstanding of conveyor system components and installation requirementsAbility to interpret engineering drawings and specificationsDemonstrated leadership capability with solid decision‐making and problem‐solving skillsStrong understanding of engineering principles, standards, and practicesWhat We OfferWhy work with Brunel?
