Senior Application Support Specialist (PeopleSoft HCM)

Location: Mississauga

Onsite requirement: 3 days a week

Contract duration: 6 months to start

Ideal Candidate Summary: 5+ years supporting enterprise PeopleSoft HCM/Payroll production environments, hands-on experience with PeopleSoft upgrades and patching, advanced SQL Server expertise, and exposure to Azure infrastructure within large Canadian enterprise organizations.

Key Note: experience at small to mid-size firms unfortunately will not meet selection criteria.

Main Deliverables

- Provide senior-level production support for PeopleSoft HCM and Payroll applications.
- Maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise HCM environments.
- Support SQL Server databases and PeopleSoft infrastructure across on-premises and Azure environments.
- Ensure application availability, performance, security, and operational stability.

Technical Stack

Core Technologies: PeopleSoft HCM, PeopleSoft Payroll, PeopleTools, PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM), Application Designer, Integration Broker, and Change Assistant.

Database: Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Query Optimization, Performance Tuning, Backup/Restore, and Replication.

Infrastructure: Microsoft Azure, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), Windows Server, and Hybrid Cloud Environments.

PeopleSoft Administration: Application Servers, Web Servers, Process Scheduler, Batch Processing, and Job Scheduling.

Monitoring & DevOps: Dynatrace, DataDog, Splunk, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, GitLab, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, and Python.

Integrations: APIs, SFTP, and Enterprise Interfaces.

Requirements

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience supporting PeopleSoft HCM applications in production environments.
- Strong experience supporting PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) and Payroll modules.
- Proven experience performing PeopleSoft upgrades, patching, PUM updates, bundles, fixes, and PeopleTools upgrades.




- Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, stored procedures, query optimization, performance tuning, backups, restores, and troubleshooting.
- Experience administering and supporting PeopleSoft application servers, web servers, process schedulers, and batch jobs.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise organizations with multiple locations and mission-critical systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hybrid application environments.
- Experience with Windows Server administration.
- Knowledge of PeopleTools, Integration Broker, Application Designer, and Change Assistant.
- Experience with application monitoring and performance tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, DataDog, LogicMonitor, or SolarWinds.
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident required.
- Ability to work onsite in Peel Region 3 days per week.
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

- Provide Level 3 support for enterprise PeopleSoft HCM and Payroll environments.
- Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, database, and integration issues in production.
- Perform PeopleSoft patches, upgrades, PeopleTools upgrades, PUM updates, bundles, and maintenance activities.
- Administer and optimize SQL Server databases, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Support and monitor PeopleSoft application servers, web servers, process schedulers, and integrations.
- Manage batch processing, scheduled jobs, APIs, and SFTP interfaces.
- Maintain high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity processes.
- Support Azure-based and on-premises environments.
- Participate in deployment, release management, change management, and operational support processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Recommend and implement performance, automation, security, and infrastructure improvements.
- Participate in after-hours support and on-call rotations when required.
