Our teams design and build innovative structures, tooling, and systems that support industries including aerospace, space, defense, marine, and architecture.Across every role, from engineers and technicians to operations and support teams, our people help solve challenging problems, push the limits of design and manufacturing, and create solutions that make a lasting impact.This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State with regular travel to our Bellingham, Washington site.Department SummaryThe Quality Engineering Lead reports within an engineering team and leads all aspects of quality within a project lifecycle to ensure products meet internal and external compliance requirements while supporting organizational quality objectives.Roles & ResponsibilitiesLeads the development, promotion, and execution of quality standards, inspection processes, test methodologies, quality plans, documents, and reportsDrives advancements in quality engineering practices and establishes best practices across projects and teamsLeads and coordinates the day-to-day activities of quality engineering and inspector staff in support of productionOversees the retrieval, review, and analysis of QA data to drive continuous improvement initiativesLeads statistical data analysis and identifies quality improvement opportunities across products and processesLeads evidence-based root cause analysis and ensures effective implementation of corrective and preventive actionsLeads and monitors the application and effectiveness of quality improvement initiativesPartners with process and program owners to develop, analyze, and improve quality metrics for management and program reviewsReviews new or modified documents, procedures, diagrams, and/or flow charts to ensure they meet user requirements and conform to contractual, AS9100, and QMS requirementsLeads participation in contract reviews; documents and disseminates quality requirements and key information to pertinent partiesResearches, evaluates, and implements best practices to advance quality improvement initiatives and utilization standardsIdentifies, recommends, and leads procedural and workflow improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline processesOversees the collection, development,
and analysis of quality measurement data to support business objectivesProvides training, coaching, and mentorship to enable employees to meet consistent quality standards and support professional developmentLeads and participates in internal, regulatory, and customer audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings and continued complianceLeads and participates in cross-functional projects and strategic quality initiativesPerforms inspection activities as needed, using common hand tools, drawings, CAD models, etc. These may be receiving, in-process, source, or finalMust work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlinesMust be at work on time and maintain good attendance. Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate to agree to enter into a Continuous Evaluation program.Education/ExperienceBachelor's degree in engineering or another technical field required5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment2+ years of experience leading quality teams or projectsAS9100/QMS experienceExperience in composite fabrication preferredExperience with root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvementInternal, customer, and regulatory audit experienceExperience in composite fabrication preferredMust have demonstrated excellent communication skillsMust have strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and databasesDETAILED WAGE INFORMATIONSalary range for this role is between $100,000 - $145,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits.
Employees can also receive additional pay for off shifts. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role.
