Salary The salary range for this position is CAD $43.32 - $54.04 / hour.
Job Summary
We are currently looking to fill a Full-Time opportunity for a Diagnostic Vascular Technologist to join the Vascular Clinic at Royal Columbian Hospital located in New Westminster, B.C.

Detailed Overview The Diagnostic Vascular Technologist performs and assesses non-invasive diagnostic tests on the vascular system utilizing continuous wave Doppler and/or plethysmography equipment. The position reports to the Manager, Clinical Operations and to the Vascular Surgeon/Vascular NP for clinical guidance.
Responsibilities
- Receives and prepares patients for testing by reviewing requisitions, patient history and ensuring patient comfort while obtaining required results.
- Performs non-invasive diagnostic tests, including ankle-brachial, toe-brachial, thoracic outlet testing, continuous wave Doppler, plethysmography, and Transcutaneous Oxygen Measurement. Records findings and submits results to physicians for review.
- Assists vascular surgeons with diagnostic procedures using blood pressure monitor and transcutaneous oxygen monitor.
- Evaluates accuracy of diagnoses, performs correlation exercises,
and recommends technique refinements.
- Responds to information requests from the medical community and provides guidance.
- Performs equipment quality control, schedules tests, records results, and requests repairs.
- Records and updates patient and procedural data in the computerized system.
- Participates in inter‐disciplinary meetings, collaborates, and provides input.
- Demonstrates procedures, equipment, and techniques to trainees.
- Maintains knowledge of developments in vascular technology via literature and career development.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Graduation from a recognized/accredited North American Program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography) with at least 1 year recent related experience.
Current certification with Sonography Canada (Generalist, Cardiac) or with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the assigned area (Cardiac, Vascular, Obstetrics/Gynecology). Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.
