Family Innovation Corp. (FIC) is a multi-family office providing multiple services, including estate planning, risk management, financial counsel, trusteeship, investment advice, and other services. We recognize excellent relationship management, accurate, actionable, and sound advice, and the desire to deliver the best quality work, improving the group's overall performance and increasing its value-added capacities. Our client is a Canadian based pharmaceutical supplier who ships prescription medication into the US.
They have hubs in LA, Chicago, and New York and are in the process of scaling up rapidly to meet demand. They are seeking a director of logistics who is capable of identifying any existing issues in their current process, as well as lead them into this new phase. This role will require regular travel. 8+ years of progressive logistics or supply chain leadership experience, including at least 3 years at a director level or equivalent, ideally within pharmaceutical, life sciences, or another regulated, temperature-sensitive industry.
Demonstrated experience managing cross-border logistics between Canada and the US, including customs clearance, importer-of-record obligations, and the documentation required to move product across the border reliably. Working knowledge of the regulatory framework governing prescription drug distribution into the US — including DSCSA (serialization and track-and-trace), FDA import requirements, and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards. Proven ability to manage multi-site or hub-based operations across geographically distributed locations (comparable to their LA, Chicago, and New York footprint).
Experience scaling logistics operations through a period of rapid growth, whether expanding capacity, adding lanes and hubs, or building out a 3PL/carrier network to meet rising demand.
Proficiency with modern TMS and WMS platforms and the data/reporting needed to run operations by the numbers. Willingness and ability to travel regularly between hubs and partner sites.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience. Direct experience with cold chain / temperature-controlled pharmaceutical distribution and validated shipping. Familiarity with controlled substances handling and DEA requirements, in case product scope expands.
Experience standing up new hubs or building a 3PL/carrier network from the ground up, rather than only optimizing an existing one. Familiarity with Health Canada distribution requirements on the origin side. Existing relationships with carriers, customs brokers, or 3PLs operating on US–Canada pharmaceutical lanes.
Bilingual (English/French), given the Canadian base of operations. Exposure to warehouse automation, analytics, or process-technology projects that improved throughput or visibility. A degree or coursework specific to supply chain management, or an MBA.
