Overview

Join our dynamic distillery team as a Distillery Hand, where you will be an essential part of the production process, ensuring the smooth operation of our beverage manufacturing facility. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a quick-paced environment focused on quality, safety, and efficiency. As a key team member, you will assist with various tasks related to distillation, packaging, sanitation, and equipment maintenance, contributing directly to the creation of high-quality spirits.

Responsibilities

- Assist with day-to-day distillery production and operations, working closely with the Head Distiller.
- Assist with mashing, fermentation, distillation, transfers, filtration, and other production activities as required.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the distillery and production areas.
- Closely monitor and follow SOPs, production procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Assist with bottling, labeling, packaging, kegging, and moving finished products as needed.
- Handle and move bags of grains, ingredients, kegs, boxes, bottles, and other materials weighing up to 35–40 kg.
- Assist with loading/unloading deliveries and organizing raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of distillery equipment and assist with preventative maintenance as required.
- Keep equipment, tools, tanks, hoses, and work areas clean, safe, and ready for production.




- Work closely with the Head Distiller to ensure production schedules and daily tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain accurate attention to measurements, temperatures, fermentation progress, production records, and batch requirements.

Skills

- Be willing to learn and assist across different areas of the operation as the business continues to grow.
- Previous experience in a winery, brewery, distillery, food-production, or similar manufacturing environment would be an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and/or previous experience with equipment maintenance would be an asset.
- Must be reliable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on production environment.
- Flexible availability for morning or evening shifts, depending on production requirements and the needs of the business.
- Ability to work independently when required while also being a strong team player.
- Strong focus on quality, consistency, cleanliness, and following established procedures.

This paid position with a starting wage between $20- 22.50 per hour to start and will be reviewed after probationary period.
