Donation Pickup & Delivery Associate

Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce, a non-profit, housing organization, builds affordable homes with families who currently live in substandard housing. Since 1987, we have built 82 homes throughout Grey and Bruce counties.

We are currently accepting applications for a part time Donation Pickup & Delivery Associate inOwen Sound.

Position Summary The Donation Pickup & Delivery Associate works alongside the Salvage Manager to safely and efficiently collect furniture, appliances, and building material donations from donors, deliver purchased items to ReStore customers, and assists the Salvage Manager with kitchen and building material salvage projects. When not on the road, this person supports the ReStore showroom by merchandising and arranging furniture

Key Responsibilities

Pickup & Delivery Support

- Safely lift, carry, and load/unload furniture, appliances, and building materials into and out of the delivery vehicle.
- Use dollies, straps, blankets, and other equipment to protect items and prevent damage during transport.
- Greet donors and customers professionally, confirm item details, and represent Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce in a courteous, positive manner.
- Assist with basic disassembly/reassembly of furniture as needed for transport (e.g., table legs, bed frames).
- Complete pickup/delivery paperwork or digital confirmations as required (donation receipts, delivery confirmations).
- Report any donor or customer concerns, damaged goods, or safety issues to the ReStore Manager promptly.
- Move and reposition items as inventory changes or as directed by the ReStore Assistant Manager.
- Perform basic cleaning and light maintenance of showroom furniture displays.

Salvage Support

- Assist the Salvage Manager with kitchen and building material salvage projects, including safe removal, sorting, and transport of salvaged materials.
- Help prepare salvaged items for sale,



including basic cleaning, staging, and organizing in designated areas.
- Follow all safety protocols when assisting with salvage work, including proper use of PPE and tools.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous experience in moving, warehouse, retail, or general labour roles is an asset but not required.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy and bulky items (50 lbs./23 kg or more) regularly, often as part of a team.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Solid customer service skills and a friendly, professional manner with donors and customers.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a small team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
- Must have a valid drivers license.

Physical Requirements

- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of heavy and various items.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to safely navigate stairwells, doorways, and tight spaces while carrying items.

Working Conditions

- Work is performed at donor and customer locations, in the Owen Sound ReStore located in Springmount.

Pay: $18.90-$20.00 per hour
