Role Description
This full time Elevator Mechanic role is a hybrid position based in Brantford, ON, with daily work at various sites across SW Ontario. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on elevators and lifts to ensure safe and reliable operation.
The Elevator
Mechanic will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, diagnose faults, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. The role also involves installing and modernizing elevator systems, documenting work performed,
maintaining accurate service records, and communicating clearly with customers and team members. The successful candidate will follow all safety regulations and company procedures while occasionally participating in on-call or emergency service work.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Elevator Maintenance & Repair to ensure safe, reliable operation of elevating devices.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and working with electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to identify and resolve mechanical and control system issues.
- Solid understanding of Electricity and electrical components related to elevator systems.
- Valid elevator mechanic license or certification (e.g., TSSA-licensed elevator technician)
- Experience with installation, modernization, and servicing of various elevator and lift makes and models.
- Commitment to safety practices, regulatory compliance, and adherence to industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Effective communication skills, customer-focused mindset, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces and at heights.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
