Role Description The EMS ISO 14001 Auditor is a full-time, on-site role based in North Vancouver, BC. This role is responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems audits for a variety of client organizations. Day-to-day activities include reviewing documentation, assessing environmental management processes, interviewing client personnel, performing on-site inspections, and evaluating compliance with ISO 14001 requirements and applicable regulations.
The auditor prepares clear, evidence-based audit reports, identifies nonconformities and opportunities for improvement, and communicates findings to clients in a professional manner.
The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of environmental management standards, contributing to audit program development, and supporting continuous improvement of certification processes within ACS CANADA CERTIFICATION™.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, environmental regulations, and related compliance requirements; experience conducting EMS audits is highly desirable.
- Background in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, or a related discipline; relevant professional certifications (e.g., ISO 14001 Lead Auditor) are an asset.
- Proficiency in audit planning, document review, risk assessment, and objective evidence collection; ability to prepare structured, accurate audit reports.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex processes and identify nonconformities and improvement opportunities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interviewing, presenting findings, and collaborating with diverse client teams in a respectful, unbiased manner.
- High level of integrity, impartiality, and attention to detail, with a commitment to skilled ethics and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently on-site, manage multiple audits, and meet deadlines; valid authorization to work in Canada and willingness to travel locally as required.
- Prior experience with other ISO management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001) or multi-standard audits is an advantage.
