? We're Hiring! M.Sc. or Ph.D. Position in Cellular & Molecular Neurobiology

Ever wondered how neurons sort, recycle, and dispose of their own molecular cargo — and what happens when that system breaks down? The Marc Lussier Lab at @Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) is recruiting a motivated graduate student to join an NSERC-funded project uncovering the role of PA-TM-RING proteins in endolysosomal trafficking in neurons — a pathway increasingly linked to neurodevelopment and neurodegenerative diseases.

? Why join our team?

- Work at the cutting edge of cellular & molecular neurobiology, using advanced imaging, biochemistry, and molecular biology techniques
- NSERC grant-funded position — full financial support helps you focus on your research
- Be part of @CERMO-FC, a vibrant, collaborative research community at UQAM, with access to shared cutting-edge equipment, expertise, scholarships and training opportunities
- As @PROTEO member lab, our students gain access to a province-wide network of 70+ protein-research teams, shared core research facilities, and PROTEO's own scholarships and training opportunities
- Hands-on mentorship in a lab that values scientific rigour, curiosity, and career development
- Opportunities to present at conferences and co-author publications
- Located in the heart of Montreal — one of North America's top student cities, bilingual,

affordable, and full of life
- Start date — flexible, as soon as possible.

? What we're looking for

- A B.Sc. (for M.Sc. applicants) or M.Sc. (for Ph.D. applicants) in neuroscience, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field
- Genuine curiosity about neuronal cell biology and a drive to ask rigorous questions • Prior lab experience is an asset but not mandatory — enthusiasm and work ethic matter most
- Strong communication skills in English and/or French

? How to apply

Send the following to [email protected]:

1️⃣ A brief cover letter describing your research interests and motivation

2️⃣ Your CV

3️⃣ Academic transcripts (unofficial copies accepted)

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis — early applicants get priority consideration. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
