Senior Electrical EngineerContract Length: 1 YearLocation: Calgary, AB T2P 3L8 or Edmonton, AB T5J 0H3Work Type: Hybrid - In-Office (Mon, Tue & Thu) | Remote (Wed & Fri)OverviewThe Senior Engineer oversees the design of expansion and maintenance capital projects executed by Engineering service providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, Enbridge specifications and processes and operational reliability requirements within project budget and schedule. They liaise with stakeholders to interpret key information for competitive solutions and successful project execution.ResponsibilitiesOwn and manage the relationship and contracts with Engineering services providersLead the design review process with internal and external stakeholders ensuring regulatory requirements, code and Enbridge's specifications, standards and procedures are followed including Process Hazard operability and constructability perspectiveManage the specification and requisition of materials by reviewing vendor materials quotations, evaluate technical bid evaluations and provide recommendation based on technical merit along with price and delivery. Collaborate with Supply Chain to procure material via internal tools.Provide planning and scheduling for design and procurement phases of the projectProvide technical support during all project phases, including project development, construction, and commissioning.Manage engineering firms to incorporate red-line markups into as-built drawings for all projectsSupports the development of the project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning,
risks and supporting information related to assigned facility projects during the project development phase.Support Operations with any incident investigations after project handoverReviews lessons learned from past projects and incorporates recommendations into future designsProvide technical guidance to junior engineers within the team or others based upon technical expertiseProvides support and assistance to peers and more senior staff to facilitate/lead business or department initiatives and legal complianceRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college.10+ years progressive experience in Engineering system design and commissioning activities within Oil and Gas IndustryProfessional Engineer designationAptitude and communications skills related to acting independently as a professional engineerProven planning, organizational, problem solving, decision - making and negotiating skills, supplemented with a practical aptitude.Preferred QualificationsExtensive Project Management and/or Field experienceDemonstrated ability to be cutting-edge, initiate and manage change.Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks accordinglyAbility to resolve complex issues based on depth and breadth of technical and business knowledgeAwareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders both internal and external to the project teamEffectively communicate technical issues and impacts to other technical and non-technical staffLooking for meaningful work?
