Job Summary

KYL Law Firm is an Immigration & Family Law Firm. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lawyer to join the firm. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in various legal tasks, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and well-organized. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.

Duties

- Represent Clients at the Family Law Court-Ontario
- Preparation of legal documents, including briefs and pleadings.
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather relevant information for cases.
- Perform legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation.
- Draft and proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Maintain organized files and documentation using legal case management systems.
- Manage project timelines and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Exhibit professional phone etiquette while communicating with clients, courts, and other legal professionals.
- Work with clients from diverse backgrounds including legal aid clients.

Skills

- Must be able to represent clients at the Family Law Courts of Ontario.




- Strong interviewing skills to effectively gather information from clients and witnesses.
- Proficient writing abilities for drafting clear and concise legal documents.
- Excellent proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in all written materials.
- Familiarity with family and immigration law management systems is preferred.
- Experience in legal drafting for various types of documents is essential.
- Strong phone etiquette for professional communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Effective project management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional organizational skills to maintain orderly files and documentation.
- Proficiency in using Lexis-Nexis and Canli for conducting thorough legal research.
- Administrative capabilities to support the overall functioning of the legal team.

This is an independent contractor, commission based position. Join our team as a Lawyer where you will play a vital role in supporting our attorney(s) while developing your skills in a dynamic legal workplace.

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Pay: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON M6A 1A1
