Job Title: Journeyman Electrician Job Description

We are seeking a Journeyman Electrician with strong construction installation and Instrumentation & Controls experience to support projects across Western Canada. This travel-based role involves working on various industrial sites, including grain terminals, ports, mines, and manufacturing facilities. You will engage in electrical construction, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of control systems that support critical operations.

Responsibilities

- Install, terminate, and test electrical systems and equipment.

- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications.

- Plan daily work, complete material lists, and support scheduling.

- Complete QA/QC documentation, red-lines, and daily reports.

- Coordinate with Foremen, Project Managers, and other trades.

- Train and mentor apprentices.

- Follow and promote all company and site safety requirements.

- Install, calibrate, and commission instrumentation and control systems.

- Perform loop checks, calibration, and system testing.

- Troubleshoot PLCs, sensors, transmitters, control valves, and automation systems.

- Interpret P&IDs;, loop drawings, and control schematics.

- Support commissioning and startup of process and industrial systems.

- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all I&C; work.

Essential Skills





- Red Seal Journeyperson Ticket.

- 5+ years of experience in a mix of industrial and commercial electrical work.

- Strong I&C; experience in industrial or process environments.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and control diagrams.

- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

- Drivers license.

- Own tools & PPE.

- Willingness to travel out of town.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Industrial experience.

- Fall Protection certification.

- Aerial Work Platform (AWP) certification.

- Confined Space training.

- WHMIS certification.

- First Aid Level 1.

Work Environment

The work schedule is typically from 6:30 am to 4 pm or 7 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with 10-hour workdays. Projects are split 50/50 between local and out-of-town locations, with local projects mainly in North
