Job Title: Internal Audit Analyst Location: York Region, ON Job Type: Permanent Salary: $74,500 or $94,000/Year Work Model: In Office This posting is for an existing vacancy. Our client in York Region, ON is actively looking for an Internal Audit Analyst to join their team.
Responsibilities - Plan, execute, and report on internal audits in accordance with IIA Standards and internal audit methodology.
- Perform risk assessments to identify key business, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
- Evaluate both the design effectiveness and operating effectiveness of controls.
- Conduct independent audit and SOX testing and complete work within established timelines.
- Perform interviews, documentation reviews, walkthroughs, and data analysis to gather audit evidence.
- Maintain risk assessments for assigned processes and identify opportunities for control improvements.
- Track remediation activities and perform follow-up testing on identified deficiencies.
- Prepare audit and SOX deficiency reports for management and executive leadership.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, and other Second Line of Defense functions.
Key Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk Management, Controls, or Compliance.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience preparing qualified reports, presentations, and deliverables for senior leadership audiences.
- Familiarity with audit analytics tools such as Power BI (preferred).
- Experience with audit management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to assess risks, identify control gaps, and recommend practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to simplify and communicate complex audit, risk, and compliance topics effectively.
- Highly adaptable and team‑oriented with strong stakeholder relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to build trust and maintain open communication throughout audit engagements.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment.
