We are currently seeking temporary General Labourers to join our team. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role in a mining environment. The position involves general labour duties supporting site operations, with skid steer & Telehandler operation required as part of daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general labour duties.
- Operate a skid steer and telehandler safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Assist with site cleanup, material handling, and maintaining safe work areas.
- Support equipment operators and production crews as required.
- Conduct pre-use inspections on equipment and report any defects or safety concerns.
- Work safely around large processing plant equipment.
- Maintain constant awareness of surroundings and follow all site traffic and safety rules.
- Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety and environmental procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members via radio and verbal communication.
- Perform physically demanding work in varying and often challenging weather conditions.
Position Requirements
- Robust commitment to safety and safe work practices.
- Must have a skid steer ticket
- Previous skid steer and telehandler operating experience is required.
- Previous mining experience is considered an asset.
- Physically capable of performing manual labour, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong situational awareness and ability to work safely in high-traffic mining areas.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working rotating shifts, including days and nights.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, rain, and heat.
- Must be able to pass all required pre-employment and site-access screenings.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with reliable transportation.
- Must have reliable transportation to Prince George or Vanderhoof.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
Job Type: Fixed term contract Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
