Arrow is an industry leading transportation, distribution and materials handling organization.We are looking for a Mobile Mechanic to join our Portable Wood Processing division in Kamloops, BC.The Mobile Mechanic is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and performing maintenance activities for a fleet of heavy haul and bush grind trucks and equipment. This position will perform mechanical repairs and diagnostics in the field and may move trucksand/or equipment to and from job sites and repairfacilities. The Mechanic ensures that all fleet assets are safe, compliant, and in optimal working condition to support continuous operations.ResponsibilitiesSchedule and coordinate regular maintenance, inspections,



and repairs for trucks and equipmentPerform mechanical and electrical repairs in the field (e.G., hoses, fittings, tires, lights, batteries, and basic troubleshooting)Diagnose issues and coordinate more complex repairs with certified technicians or external shopsProvide routine maintenance on tractors, trailers and mobile equipment such as excavators, graders and wheel loadersCheck all equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctionsMay operate mobile shop vehicle to repair vehicles in fieldMay operate Class 1 vehicles to move units between job sites, shops, and yards as neededAssist in recovery and transport of disabled units from remote or bush locationsLiaise with drivers, mechanics, and vendors to ensure timely service and minimal downtimeOperate equipment such as truck cab computers, 2-way radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, dispatch, supervisors, or other driversComplete electronic logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair statusEnsure that all customers,



co-workers and the public are dealt with professionally and with respectMaintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulationsPerform incidental welding repairs on equipmentWill keep track of truck and trailer downtime and let team know when a unit is OOS and when it is back in serviceWill take calls and texts from drivers on needed repairs and you will be responsible to prioritize the repairsFrom time to time we may do other repairs for other divisions and invoice through TMTOther duties as requiredYou PossessJourneyman's certificate, Red Seal, or equivalent qualificationProven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical, including schematics and diagnostics.Recent experience with routine maintenance operations.Ability to work independently in remote/bush environments.Comfortable using computers and learning new software applications.Clean driver's abstract with no suspensionsAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screeningAt least two previous supervisory referencesValid Class 1 Drivers license is preferredPrevious experience coordinating fleet maintenance, or heavy equipment is an assetSolid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environmentAbility to deal with people tactfully and professionally at all timesAbility to work well under pressureEmbody Arrow's core values: Safety, Quality, Integrity, Responsibility, Teamwork, and Fun!#INDArrow has been recognized as a Top Fleet Employer of Distinction, a SmartWay Transport Partner, a BCTA Clean Carrier, a BC Hydro Clean Energy Champion and as a Carrier of Excellence in Women's Leadership. #J-18808-Ljbffr
