Thales has a vacancy for a DevOps Sub-Discipline Manager who will be responsible for leading and managing the DevOps team, overseeing the development, deployment, and operations processes to ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable, and high-performing systems. This role focuses on building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating processes, managing infrastructure, and fostering collaboration between software development and IT operations teams.

As a member of the DevOps team Ansible playbooks/rules) to automate configuration tasks across Windows and Linux based servers Create and maintain reusable automations that support various environments (dev, test, and production). Integrate workflows with CI/CD pipeline to enable automated deployments and updates.
Identify and troubleshoot issues related to server configuration and automation. Assume leadership role on discipline strategy and technical decisions. Develop KPIs to assess DevOps efficiency and reliability.
Provide guidance and support to other teams on using and developing CI/CD pipelines. Responsible for performing DevOps work on bids, projects and products. As a DevOps discipline lead, supports the E2 Manager with, In ensuring that the discipline processes, procedures and tooling meet the current and future needs of the bids, projects and products.
Foster continuous improvement based on root cause analysis, problem solving and new practice deployment. For bid, project and product estimates for the discipline and sub-disciplines. Provides appropriate resources to deliver bids, projects and products.
Plans the team’s workload in the short, medium and long term. Develops team skills to support bids, projects and products. Supports recruitment, onboarding, performance management, career management and succession planning for the team.
Leads the team to meet company expectations for productivity, chargeability, quality, continuous improvement and accomplishment of objectives. Ensures that company policies and procedures are followed, including timesheets, time off, and travel. Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Computer Tech, or Engineering related discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Senior DevOps Engineering role. Minimum 3 years’ experience leading a DevOps Team. Proven conflict resolution skills both in terms of technical and people related issues.
Capable of developing strong relationships across the business through excellent customer service. Excellent communication skills in the English language, written and verbal. You have proven dedication towards continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

You manage resources in order to meet cost, schedule and quality commitments. A minimum of 3 years of experience managing an Engineering Discipline, including responsibility for associated policies and procedures. Expertise in Windows and Linux server administration.
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell (for windows) and Bash (for Linux). Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git. Familiarity with automation and industrialization methods (programming languages, scripting (Go, Python, Bash) and CI/CDD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery and Deployment) pipelines (Gitlab pipelines, Github actions…), Robust knowledge of DevOps, digital stack and Cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
Strong knowledge of Networking & Cybersecurity basics. Strong knowledge of containers development and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift). Minimum 3 days/week in office Travel: Minimal The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is $140,000.00 to 170,000.00 CAD Annual .
