Level 2 Trailer Technician

This role may also be known as: Trailer Mechanic, Fleet Maintenance Technician, Heavy Duty Trailer Technician, CVIP Trailer Technician

If you want to work on a growing, up-to-date fleet with equipment and technology that's actually invested in, this is worth a look. You'd be joining a team-oriented shop working alongside a Service Writer and experienced technicians, keeping a large trailer fleet safe and road-ready through preventative maintenance, structural repairs, welding, brake and tire work, and diagnostics.

This organization backs its technicians with real training dollars and supports national tractor and trailer apprentice certification programs, so the runway here isn't just talk — it's paid training hours, tuition reimbursement, and a genuine path to build your trade credentials over time.

What separates this from a typical shop job is the stability and the structure behind it: a large, established fleet operation with steady volume, a clean and organized shop environment, and a team culture built around supporting technicians rather than just running them ragged. There's room to grow your skill set across structural, mechanical, and diagnostic work rather than being boxed into one repetitive task, and the shift and skill-based premiums mean your pay grows as your capability does.

What You'll Be Doing

- Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) and wheel re-torques across the trailer fleet
- Conduct general maintenance and inspections, flagging issues before they become downtime
- Carry out minor structural repairs, panel repairs, and scuffliner repairs

- Apply torch and welding skills to structural and repair work
- Handle brake work, tire work, and wheel-end repairs to suspension and related components
- Diagnose ABS system issues and perform wheel seal replacements

What We're Looking For

- 2 to 3 years of experience as a Level 2 trailer technician
- A valid CVIP license
- Torch and welding experience
- A Journeyperson Welder's certificate is an asset
- Solid working knowledge of common shop occupational safety practices
- A team-oriented mindset and clear communication with your Service Writer and fellow technicians

Compensation & Work Model

Compensation is competitive and will be discussed during the screening process. This role also includes a $3,000 sign-on bonus (conditions apply), a $500 tool and PPE allowance, a $300 boot allowance, additional hourly premiums based on shift and skill, comprehensive group health benefits, an Employee and Family Assistance Program, RRSP contributions with company match, and a referral bonus program. This is an onsite position, Monday through Thursday, 4 PM to 2:30 AM.

Location & Travel

Specific facility location will be confirmed during the screening process.
