Job Summary
Join our vibrant culinary team as a Line Cook/Prep Cook! We are looking for a reliable and motivated team member with at least 1 year of experience in a restaurant or food service environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, assisting with daily food preparation, cooking menu items, and supporting the kitchen during busy service periods. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen and be able to efficiently prepare and plate dishes during service with minimal supervision.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with food, wants to further develop their culinary skills, and can work effectively as part of a small kitchen team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and portion ingredients according to established recipes and kitchen standards
- Assist with daily food preparation, including vegetables, meats, sauces, and other ingredients
- Cook and prepare menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Prepare and plate orders efficiently during service
- Be able to manage multiple orders and prioritize tasks during busy periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations throughout the shift
- Follow proper food handling, storage,
and food safety procedures
- Assist with inventory management and proper food storage to minimize waste
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Follow all health and safety procedures in the kitchen
- Maintain consistent food quality, portion sizes, and presentation
Requirements & Skills
- At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant, kitchen, or food service environment
- Previous experience with food preparation and cooking is required
- Able to prepare and plate menu items independently during service
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Valuable understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
- Knowledge of proper food handling and food safety practices
- Able to work efficiently while handling multiple tasks
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, responsible, and willing to learn
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with a small kitchen team
- Food Handler Certificate is an asset
Pay: $17.60-$22.00 per hour
