About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and restaurant facilities.
This role is ideal for a practical, self-motivated individual who takes pride in quality workmanship, has strong attention to detail, and can work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general plumbing repairs and maintenance, including replacing taps, toilets, drains, and other fixtures in guest rooms, public washrooms, and restaurant areas.
- Complete general woodworking repairs, maintenance, and small construction projects as required.
- Perform painting and touch-up work, including furniture, ceilings, doors, and other hotel surfaces.
- Match paint colours accurately and complete painting work with a steady hand and attention to detail.
- Perform caulking and sealing work to maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and condition of hotel facilities.
- Assist with seasonal property maintenance, including snow shovelling and salting of walkways and entrances.
- Inspect and identify maintenance issues and report concerns to management.
- Respond to maintenance requests and complete assigned repairs in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding maintenance concerns and completed work.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in general maintenance, building maintenance, facilities, or a related trade is an asset.
- Basic plumbing, woodworking, painting, and repair skills.
- Robust attention to detail, particularly when completing painting and caulking work.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Self-starter who can prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Reliable and dependable, with a strong work ethic.
- Physically able to lift, push, and pull items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor conditions and during winter weather.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and professional environment for guests and staff.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent Pay: $18.50 per hour

Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- Maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
