Reporting to the Senior Director, Clinical Services, the Nursing Resource Unit is currently seeking a full-time, temporary (12 months) Manager. Working closely with the ED/Inpatient Managers, CSSO Manager, After Hours Site Administrators and Human Resources, the Manager, NRU is responsible for leadership of the inter-professional team including nursing and allied health, and new graduate nurses. Along with CSSO Leadership, the NRU manager will build a strong and effectively integrated staffing and scheduling process involving the resource unit operations to: ensure a secure environment for patients and staff, enable leadership to assess, plan and make decisions for the purpose of improving staff utilization, and help to ensure that units have the right staffing levels and qualified staff to perform their work.

The Manager will ensure safe operations and will promote and facilitate the vision and philosophy of care for the patients at CAMH. The Manager will represent the department both within CAMH and with external stakeholders as required and achieve excellence in all aspects of service delivery on both a strategic and operational level.

Responsibilities

Daily Operational activities include managing availability rosters and scheduling of appropriate staff; managing human resources, including recruitment, orientation and performance management, as well as team planning, development, and evaluation. The Manager will also support a strong academic mandate for the department, which includes a focus on both the educational experience of trainees, and the ongoing professional development of staff. In collaboration with the Nurse Educator(s), you will be responsible for the identification and development of educational requirements and transitional supports for staff and new graduate nurses on the team, providing supervision to members of the clinical team, and implementing evidence-based practices.

You will develop and support a culture of safety and quality.



You will be required to support budget planning and monitoring, track NRU metrics and utilization, facilitate the implementation of the CAMH Strategic Plan, and participate in planning and project work, as needed. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and be resolution-focused.

You may also be called upon to participate in and represent Management in negotiations with Bargaining Agents and must be familiar with collective agreements. Qualifications The successful candidate will be a health care professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field e.g. Nursing, Social Work, Health Sciences Administration. Nursing background is considered an asset.

Registration in good standing with a College as a Regulated Healthcare Professional is preferred. You will have had at least 3+ years of previous leadership experience and possess knowledge of mental health and addiction care. You will have a sound understanding of inpatient department settings including experience managing an interdisciplinary team of regulated and unregulated health professionals.

As well, you will possess a track record of the provision of client and family centred care; development of linkages/partnerships; strong interpersonal and written communication skills; negotiation; leadership and the ability to work effectively within a agile team environment. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and communities is essential.



You have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Work, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint).

Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Salary is competitive and based on experience, with a hiring range of $112,495.94 – $140,619.93 per year.
- Employees in this role may progress within the full pay range of $112,495.94 – $168,743.91 per year
