Your Opportunity
The Cross Cancer Institute is looking for a Maintenance IV to join our small team. As an MIV within the CCI you will be responsible for monitoring the buildings systems, working with an interdisciplinary team of trades people, being a first responder to emergencies, and assisting others when help is needed. This position does shift work rotating between days and nights (7-7). You must be comfortable working with others as well as on your own as the night shift you will be by yourself. A working knowledge with BMS systems and an ability to prioritize alarms is a must as you will be responding to all alarms and emergencies within a working shift.
Description
As a Maintenance Worker IV, you will perform a variety of highly skilled and complex maintenance and repair work requiring considerable initiative and judgment in determining the appropriate work methods consistent with standards, regulations and procedures. You will utilize your supervisory and/or maintenance skills and experience to perform preventative maintenance and repair duties on specialized equipment and building control systems, and to provide leadership and direction to other maintenance staff in order to meet operational requirements. In addition, you will perform specialized machine repairs, as well as the maintenance and monitoring of systems and equipment.
You may be responsible to resolve escalated operational issues; act as a delegate for the Manager on operational issues; participate in the recruitment and selection of current staff; assisting the design and implementation of preventative maintenance programs; estimate project costs; and liaise with outside agencies and contractors.

Required Qualifications
Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or technical certification in a related field required or 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines where boiler support is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with BMS and Siemens systems. Familiar with Microsoft programs. Any safety certifications.
