Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Miscellaneous & Structural Steel Drafting & Detailing professional to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise and comprehensive technical drawings and models for miscellaneous and structural steel components used in construction and fabrication projects. Your expertise will ensure that all designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects, utilizing cutting-edge CAD software and drafting techniques to bring creative designs to life. Your proactive approach and technical proficiency will be key to delivering high-quality detailed drawings that facilitate smooth project execution from conception through completion.

Responsibilities

- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for miscellaneous steel and structural steel components using AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, SketchUp, SolidWorks, and other drafting tools.
- Interpret engineering schematics, architectural plans, and construction documents to produce accurate fabrication and installation drawings.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, project managers, and fabricators to ensure design accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Visit construction sites, meet with managers, review site conditions and take site dimensions for implementing fabrication drawings
- Create detailed schematics for steel connections, welds, bolts, and other structural elements, ensuring clarity for manufacturing and assembly processes.




- Incorporate construction experience into drafting workflows to optimize designs for real-world application and ease of installation.
- Review project specifications and coordinate revisions based on client feedback or engineering updates.
- Assist in the development of 2D animation visualizations for project presentations or client proposals when needed.Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, with a strong emphasis on drafting and detailing for steel structures.
- Experience interpreting schematics, technical drawings, and construction documents within the steel fabrication or construction industry.
- Solid understanding of structural engineering principles related to miscellaneous metals and steel frameworks.
- Ability to produce precise 2D drawings and 3D models that meet industry standards and project specifications.
- Construction experience is highly desirable to ensure practical application of drafted designs on-site.
- Familiarity with 2D animation tools can be an asset for creating visual project presentations.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
