Join Northern Canada's Premier Hotel The Explorer Hotel is seeking reliable and customer-focused individuals to join our Front Office team as Casual Night Auditors.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, providing exceptional guest service, and supporting the financial operations of a busy hotel during overnight hours.
Please note: This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours per week. Shifts will be scheduled based on operational requirements, vacation coverage, sick leave coverage, and business needs.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Front Office Manager, the Casual Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing front desk operations during overnight hours while completing daily financial audit procedures and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of hotel guests.
The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service, manage guest requests and concerns, process reservations and payments, and complete the nightly accounting reconciliation for hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services
- Provide exceptional guest service during overnight hours.
- Complete guest check-ins and check-outs.
- Respond to guest inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional manner.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Process reservations and room changes.
- Monitor hotel security and guest access during overnight shifts.
- Work closely with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Management as required.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and after-hours incidents.
Financial & Night Audit Responsibilities
- Complete the daily night audit process.
- Reconcile guest accounts and folios.
- Verify room charges, payments, and revenue transactions.
- Prepare and balance daily revenue reports.
- Process credit card transactions and cash balancing procedures.
- Identify and report discrepancies.
- Generate and distribute required financial and operational reports.
- Maintain accurate records and audit documentation.
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality, hotel, customer service, or front desk experience is considered an asset.
- Previous night audit or accounting experience is an asset.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn hotel management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
- Ability to work evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
