: The Registered Nurse will function in a energetic, multi-disciplinary environment.
Responsibilities include education and preparation of clients (Pediatric and Adult) undergoing a variety of Medical Imaging procedures. The RN will assist the Radiologist/Specialist during procedures and perform direct nursing assessment and care as appropriate to ensure the safety of clients undergoing procedures. The RN will prepare for and respond to fluctuating workloads, unexpected critical situations, and the requirement to work in all modalities of Medical Imaging. The RN will collaborate with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to continually evaluate the client's care and condition while in the Medical Imaging Departments.

Experience
- One (1) of which must be experience in the Adult Endoscopy clinical area
- Min 1 yr recent clinical experience in Critical Care, MI, OR, or IR
- Requires extensive knowledge & experience within all Medical Imaging modalities
- Experience in critical care is an asset
- Previous experience must include at least 1 year in Emergency nursing
Education
- Graduate from an approved School of Nursing
Other Education and Training
- Certification in Critical Care, OR, or equivilent in Interventional Rad an asset
- Completion of Vascular Access certification within 2 years of commencement

- Demonstrated knowledge of current SHA Vascular Access protocols and policies
- In depth knowledge of pharmacology & client reactions to procedural sedation
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Standards and application of such
- In depth knowledge of pharmacology & client reactions to Intravenous contrast
- Skilled wtih cardiac monitoring equipment & related medications for imaging
- Ability to assess client responses during MI and IR procedures
- Knowledge of HIPA
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Skilled in clinical techniques/use of equipment & supplies in IR setting
- In depth knowledge of pharmacology & client reactions to anesthesia
- Skilled in the initiation/management of IV therapy & medications
Other Information
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate (ACLS) an asset
- Scheduled hours of work may be reduced when a statutory holiday is recognized
- Some call back may be required occasionally. Subject to review and evaluation
