Senior Data ArchitectLocation: Mississauga/Toronto (Hybrid)Type: Permanent, Full-TimePosition SummaryThe Senior Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing enterprise-level data solutions that support multiple concurrent initiatives. This role provides architectural leadership across the full data lifecycle, including discovery, modeling, integration, governance, and performance optimization - while ensuring that all solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to organizational standards.Key ResponsibilitiesData Architecture & DesignLead end‐to‐end data architecture activities including requirements analysis, conceptual/logical/physical modeling, and solution design.Develop scalable architectures for modern data platforms, including cloud-based data warehouses and relational databases.Produce high‐quality architecture documentation, data models, and DDL artifacts.Data Integration & EngineeringDefine and support ETL/ELT patterns that ensure quality, integrity, and performance across data pipelines.Collaborate with development, DBA, and engineering teams to enable seamless integration across systems.Optimize data structures, queries, pipelines, and storage strategies.Governance, Quality & SecurityEmbed data governance principles into all designs, including metadata, lineage, standards, access, and data residency requirements.Ensure solutions comply with organizational security and quality expectations.Review and approve data‐related production changes to safeguard operational stability.Cross‐Functional CollaborationWork closely with project managers, developers, business analysts, architects, and leadership to deliver cohesive end‐to‐end solutions.Participate in planning, estimation, solution reviews,
and technical governance forums.Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‐technical stakeholders.Strategic & Enterprise ContributionContribute to the definition and refinement of enterprise data architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.Support continuous improvement of data platform capabilities and architectural maturity.Required Qualifications7+ years of experience in data architecture or related disciplines.Strong SQL skills and expertise in designing logical and physical data models.Hands‐on experience with cloud-based data warehouse platforms.Experience with modern ETL/ELT integration tools.Understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and data residency requirements.Experience supporting or enabling data for analytics, machine learning, or AI initiatives.Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.Experience with tools such as Snowflake and experience in Cloud Data ArchitectureExperience with AWS or AzurePreferred QualificationsExperience with PostgreSQL or additional relational database technologies.Certifications such as TOGAF, CDP, Snowflake certifications, or cloud architect credentials.Experience operating within large, multi‐project enterprise environments.Experience with Medallion Everforth Apex is a world‐class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
