Position Description Position Title: Operations Performance Manager Department: Operations Location: 6600 Goreway Drive (Mississauga Head Office) Reports to: Vice President, Operations About the Role
Cardinal is seeking a hands-on operations skilled who has experience working with drivers, terminals, dispatch teams, or frontline transportation operations to drive scanning accuracy and operational discipline across our transportation network.
This is not a corporate compliance, legal, IT, audit, or policy role. This role does not have any direct reports.
This role is ideal for someone who has worked in transportation, courier, logistics, fleet, terminal, or delivery operations and has experience influencing frontline teams to consistently follow operational processes.
You will work directly with terminal leadership, supervisors, dispatch teams, and drivers to identify compliance gaps, improve performance, deliver training, and implement sustainable solutions that drive measurable results.
This is a highly visible role focused on field engagement, operational accountability, and continuous improvement. Success in this position comes from being visible in the operation, building relationships with terminal teams, analyzing performance data, coaching leaders, and driving accountability to achieve consistent scanning compliance across the network. What We're Looking For
Required Experience To be considered, candidates must have: 3+ years of experience in transportation, courier, logistics, fleet, terminal, or distribution operations
Experience working directly with drivers, dispatchers, terminal supervisors, or frontline operations staff
Experience using operational metrics and reporting to improve compliance or performance
Proven ability to influence operational teams and drive behavioral change Candidates without transportation, logistics, courier, fleet, warehousing, distribution, or field operations experience will not be considered. This is not a desk-based reporting position. The successful candidate will spend significant time working directly with terminals, supervisors, and drivers to identify issues, coach teams, and implement corrective actions.
What You'll Be Responsible For Drive scanning compliance across all terminals and driver groups
Monitor daily operational performance metrics and identify compliance gaps
Investigate root causes of missed or inaccurate scans
Develop corrective action plans with terminal leadership
Conduct field audits and site visits
Train drivers, supervisors, and terminal staff on scanning processes
Create dashboards and performance reports for leadership
Build accountability systems that improve compliance results
Partner with Operations and IT teams to improve scanning tools and workflows
Lead initiatives that improve scanning accuracy, consistency, and user adoption Additional Requirements Strong analytical and reporting skills
Experience driving operational compliance, process adherence, or performance improvement initiatives
Ability to influence teams and hold others accountable without direct authority
Strong communication, coaching, and training skills
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with operational metrics Preferred Experience with handheld scanning devices, route management systems, TMS platforms, or freight technology
Experience in courier, LTL, parcel, final-mile delivery, or transportation environments
Bilingual English/French
