What to Expect:
As an Optical Retail Associate, you will oversee the daily operations of the optical department to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and optimal business performance. This role is dynamic and fast-paced, combining core retail management skills with specialized knowledge of optical products.
You will balance business operations, such as achieving sales targets and managing inventory, with direct patient care. Expect to be an active team leader, fostering a collaborative culture while heavily utilizing technical skills for troubleshooting, dispensing, and eyewear adjustments.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinic & Retail Operations:
- Oversee the daily operations of the optical store, which includes opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and maintaining store security.
- Manage clinic reception duties, such as booking appointments and processing direct insurance billing through provider portals.
- Handle comprehensive inventory management, stock replenishment, merchandising, and loss prevention activities.
- Execute promotional strategies and collaborate with management to achieve monthly sales targets and business objectives.
Patient Care & Dispensing:
- Guide patients through frame selections by considering facial features, measuring precise pupillary distance, and recommending optimal lens coatings based on their lifestyle.
- Handle the ordering, verification,
and dispensing of spectacles and contact lenses to minimize turnaround time for customer pickups.
- Educate and instruct new patients on proper contact lens insertion, removal, hygiene, and care.
- Deliver excellent customer service by understanding patient needs, answering questions, and resolving any complaints regarding optical services.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in a retail management or supervisory role, with a solid background in customer service and driving sales targets. Prior experience managing an optical store or clinic is highly preferred.
- Optical Knowledge: Deep knowledge of optical products and services, including lenses, frames, and contact lenses. Strong technical skills with a proven aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing eyewear defects.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage, lead, and motivate teams effectively, with direct experience in staff scheduling and conducting performance evaluations.
- Administrative & Financial Aptitude: Experience with retail management, cash handling, reconciling registers, and daily financial transactions. Familiarity with direct insurance billing is a significant asset.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal communication skills, and a patient-first mindset. Detail-oriented with strong hand-eye coordination for technical adjustments.
- Language: Hindi/Gujarati/Punjabi/English preferred
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
