We are currently hiring an estimator to help as we grow. While you will be helping us achieve our goals as an organization, we want to ensure we help you in your career path so you can take pride knowing you are setup for future successes, whatever they may be.
Responsibilities for Estimator
- Reviewing bid sites, contacting and following up with existing clients and potential clients to ensure our group is added their bid lists.
- Researching companies and identifying potential opportunities in the industries listed in qualifications.
- Complete contractor prequalification’s for private RFP’s, etc.
- Executing construction and maintenance proposals.
- Leading the development of an estimate bid submission.
- Acting as a liaison with clients and project management for estimate requirements.
- Build a database and relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist turning subcontractor quotes into subcontractor agreements for successful projects.
- Reviewing special proposal requirements and making recommendations.
- Organizing bid closing assignments to meet submission deadlines.
- Conducting a detailed analysis of the contract documents and specifications, to determine overall project requirements and identifying any associated risk factors, including the monitoring of published addendums that may alter the original scope of the project.
- ·Completing final bid submission to the client (in conjunction with the Managing Director as needed).
- · Interpreting isometric, as-built, and engineering drawings, and specifications.
- · Preparing quantity take-offs, reports, and presentations.
- · Establishing a critical path schedule, including milestone dates and completion timelines to meet contract completion dates for projects.
- · Maintain databases, including labor rates, materials pricing and project costs, for future reference.
- · Developing work plans, execution methodology, etc.
Qualifications for Estimator
· You should have 3 to 5 years of experience working as a construction estimator.
· Experience in the construction, industrial, civil, infrastructure industries.
· You have an advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques,
and construction contracts as well as conceptual estimating and unit costs.
· Extensive knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation, including quantity take off procedures, trade contractor procurement, pricing and bid closing procedures.
· General construction knowledge; understands specifications, methods and procedure.
· Ability to work well on a busy dynamic team, yet the ability to work independently to achieve your goals and meet deadlines.
· Attention to detail and the ability to creatively solve problems.
· Desire to take on challenges.
· Amazing analytical and math skills.
· Ability to put together a professional presentation.
· Master of Microsoft Office products – Excel, Word, etc.
· Experience with drawing take off platforms and marking up drawings (familiar with Bluebeam, Procore, or Fieldwire, etc).
