We are hiring an outstanding Part-Time Optometric Assistant for our eye clinic in Windermere. We are an independent provider of skilled eye care services and products to promote quality and readily-available vision-related health care. Our mission is to serve the community with a team that demonstrates a skilled, caring, and supportive approach to visual health.
Our goal is to provide the best quality care to all patients, while offering education to convey the importance of ocular health. Our services are provided in a convenient location with accessible clinic hours, with an emphasis on patient satisfaction by creating a pleasant and reassuring atmosphere. Must have experience in optometry setting.
- Pre-screen patients before seeing the Optometrist.
- Perform tests such as OCT and VF.
- Answer a high volume of calls and maintain a rapid response rate according to agreed-upon standards and training.
- Educate clients about the best eyewear choices for their lifestyle, ensuring they receive the best quality.
- Perform frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of eyewear.
- Learn the process of edging eyeglass lenses and perform edging duties.
- Have knowledge in hard and soft contact lenses and be able to perform trainings for patients and order contact lenses for office use.
- Take accurate information from calls received (i.e.: book appointments) where required and transfer information or calls efficiently.
- Greet in-office patients immediately in a courteous and friendly demeanor while building rapport with patients.
- Provide direction and information to in-office patients and collect required health information prior to eye exam.
- Order and maintain office supplies as needed.
- Update electronic records, file patient files and perform other routine clerical tasks as assigned by the Office Manager.
- Answer and maintain website inquiries for scheduling appointments and checking on orders, etc.
- Maintain patient records, third party billing and financial records and database as assigned.
- Participate in personal and team development training and initiatives including staff meetings, continuing education and conferences.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, leadership team, suppliers and the general public.
- Maintain consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adhere to relevant health and safety procedures.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $17.00 per hour
