Reporting to the General Manager, Tundra Grill & Concessions, the Jr.
Assistant
Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting the Tundra Grill team. This position is responsible for fostering a positive and inclusive team culture, providing guidance and mentorship to Supervisors, Team Leads, and Team Members, and ensuring operational excellence across all food and beverage venues. The Jr.
Assistant
Manager will assist in overseeing daily operations, staff development, guest services, and compliance with food safety and health regulations.
Key Accountabilities Leadership & Team Development
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Supervisors, Team Leads, and Team Members.
- Support staff in understanding and executing job responsibilities and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs.
- Promote a positive and inclusive team culture aligned with Park Hospitality values.
Operational Support
- Assist in the setup and teardown of locations for seasonal and special events.
- Support the booking and coordination of birthday parties, picnic sites, and group catering.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure high standards of food safety and health regulations are maintained.
- Uphold and enforce company policies and procedures.
Administrative Duties
- Assist with schedule development and payroll approval.
- Support the development and updating of location inventory sheets, daily and monthly cleaning checklists.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of administrative forms and reports.
General Duties
- Adhere and comply with all Compass Group Canada and Park Hospitality policies, safety regulations and safe work practices that will ensure a safe work environment.
- Maintain a professional image while working and provide extraordinary experiences to our park visitors while performing daily work activities.
- Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain positive and inclusive relationships with co-workers, volunteers, and visitors.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the principles of equity and diversity, and proven ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
Required EDUCATION, TRAINING, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Food Handler Certificate.
- Smart Choices Certificate.
- Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Certifications as required to comply with provincial regulations
Required EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in the Hospitality or Restaurant industry.
- 1+ years of experience developing and training employees.
- Experience in a fast-paced, food service environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to resolve customer issues and complaints.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize job responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to quickly motivate and guide a team
- Ability to work with management staff and other colleagues in a professional manner.
- Experience in training, coordinating, and overseeing staff.
- Proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Candidates must be physically capable of safely performing the duties of the position, which includes standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 25-40lbs regularly.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
