Fitset Ninja is a leading ninja obstacle training organization with thriving locations in Edmonton and Calgary, AB, and we’re growing quick. This summer, we launched an exciting pop-up location in Kelowna, BC, marking the first step toward establishing a permanent presence in the Okanagan. Position Summary

We are looking for a People Operations Lead to lead the people side of our growing organization and help create an environment where our team can thrive. This role combines people leadership, business operations, organizational development, and employee support.

Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, this role will oversee people operations across recruitment, onboarding, training, safety, benefits, and employee engagement, while helping build strong teams, improve how we work, support leaders, and develop people-focused systems and processes that can grow with the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Lead and continuously improve the employee experience across recruitment, onboarding, development, performance, engagement, and offboarding.
- Partner with leaders to identify staffing needs, recruit great people, and build strong teams.
- Develop and improve processes, systems, tools, and resources that support employees and leaders.
- Coach and support leaders through employee performance, workplace concerns, feedback, and difficult conversations.
- Lead performance management processes and support leaders in developing their teams.
- Oversee employee training, development, and leadership development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and oversee payroll, benefits, and related administration.




- Lead employee engagement initiatives and use employee feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support workplace safety, WCB, and other employee-related processes.
- Ensure people practices, policies, and processes are consistent and meet organizational and legislative requirements.
- Research and pursue grants, funding opportunities, and other programs that support our people and organizational goals.
- Demonstrate alignment with Fitset Ninja’s mission and values of growth mindset, team, and passion for helping others.

What We're Looking For

- 1-3 years of experience in leadership, business operations, people management, or a similar role.
- Experience leading teams, supporting employees, and managing people-related processes.
- Strong business judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build trust, communicate effectively, and navigate challenging conversations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to balance strategic priorities with day-to-day execution.
- Comfortable working independently, taking ownership, and creating structure where it doesn't yet exist.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Management, Organizational Leadership, Human Resources, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience with HR, payroll, employment legislation, workplace safety, or WCB is an asset, but we are open to candidates who have developed these skills through business or leadership experience.

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
