Elementary Physical Education Teacher & Athletic Coordinator The Hamilton Hebrew Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and student-centred Physical Education Teacher to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about health, fitness, athletics, and helping children develop confidence, teamwork, leadership, and a lifelong love of physical activity.

The successful candidate will teach Physical Education to students in Grades JK– Grade 9 in accordance with the Ontario Health and Physical Education Curriculum while also leading and coordinating our intramural and athletic programs throughout the school year.

Responsibilities

- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Physical Education lessons aligned with the Ontario Health and Physical Education Curriculum.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and active learning environment that supports student well-being and success.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Organize and oversee the school's intramural program, athletic teams, and special sporting events.



Responsibilities include coaching our Senior Volleyball and Junior Basketball teams, which compete in the HWDSB league, as well as coordinating our Cross Country and Track & Field programs.
- Prepare our students for track and field and cross-country events with the board
- Coach and mentor student athletes while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, resilience, and leadership.
- Maintain accurate assessment records and communicate student progress when required.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student growth and school spirit.
- Ensure student safety and follow all school policies and procedures during physical activities.

Qualifications

- Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) designation preferred.
- Experience teaching Physical Education and/or coaching children.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Health and Physical Education Curriculum.
- Strong classroom and group management skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Creative, energetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or a related field preferred.
