Step into the Planner I role, providing essential planning services in a supportive and innovative environment. Focus on local and regional projects while collaborating with diverse stakeholders. As a Planner I, you will report to the Manager of Current & Long Range Planning.
Your main responsibilities will include reviewing and processing land use applications and coordinating with developers. Essential skills include dispute resolution and time management, with a strong emphasis on communication. A minimum of three years' relevant experience is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process land use and subdivision applications efficiently
- Liaise with developers and public for current projects
- Conduct application evaluations based on planning bylaws
- Prepare comprehensive reports for City Council and agencies
- Assist in public engagement and planning document preparations Requirements:
- Three years of relevant experience required
- Minimum two-year Diploma in Urban Planning or related discipline
- Strong understanding of municipal development regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and GIS software
