BC Assessment is currently looking for a permanent Planning and Risk Advisor to join our Finance Division in our Victoria office.

We acknowledge that BC Assessment’s Victoria office is located on the traditional territories of the Songhees Nation of the Coast Salish People.

Hybrid Work: Minimum 3 days per week in office

You are a strategic collaborator and an adept and creative problem solver.

Your analytical thinking and research ability enables you to evaluate alternatives, draw sound conclusions and communicate your findings effectively, including through creative and stakeholder-tailored presentations.

You have proven project management skills and can lead and implement corporate programs and initiatives with ease.

You are an exceptional business writer, producing persuasively written documents that deliver messages effectively to all audiences including Executives and Senior Leaders.

You are skilled at translating complex information into transparent and compelling visual formats: charts, presentations, dashboards, and other tools that make data and ideas easy to understand and act on.

Reporting to the Manager, Business Planning and Performance Reporting,



the Planning and Risk Advisor supports and leads initiatives in the development and implementation of BC Assessment’s corporate planning, performance management, and enterprise risk management programs. This role takes ownership of assigned priorities and actively contributes to the broader development, coordination and advancement of projects and initiatives that support BCA’s Strategic Plan and overall direction. Provides expert consultation in developing business strategies, directions and plans, and manages a broad range of business/systems projects

Supports corporate level planning services to ensure effective prioritization of initiatives and maintains a corporate roadmap

Leads and manages deliverables that may include business cases, business and operating model design, data and financial analysis, in-depth risk assessments, cost/benefit analysis, feasibility studies and alternative analysis modeling in support of business planning

Manages or participates as a member of a team on large scale, complex projects related to technology, policy and operational change

Acts as a project leader as departmental needs dictate

Conducts quantitative and qualitative research, analysis, and prepares materials and reports.

Conducts analysis and provides recommendations to reduce risk exposure to the organization and ensure compliance with policies

This position is excluded from the bargaining unit.

University degree in business, economics, finance or public administration.

Risk Management Certification would be preferred.

Four (4) years' experience in strategic and business planning, business analysis, performance measurement,



and reporting in a continuous learning environment.

Three (3) years' experience in project and change management, preferably leading corporate projects and cross-functional teams.

Two (2) years' experience in risk management, performance measurement and business planning.
