Responsibilities
Acadia University is seeking an experienced and highly organized Program Manager to join the School of Nursing. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic academic environment and has a passion for supporting students, coordinating complex programs, managing resources, and building strong relationships with internal and external partners.
The Program Manager plays a key role in the effective operation and ongoing development of the School of Nursing. Working closely with the Director, faculty, staff, students, and University partners, the position provides leadership and coordination across academic program administration, student experience, recruitment, procurement, reporting, accreditation, and continuous improvement.
Specific Responsibilities will include
- Coordinate and support the ongoing development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the School of Nursing's academic programs and curriculum.
- Coordinate BScN admissions, orientations, information sessions, recruitment activities, and student engagement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain student academic audits, provide support to prospective and current students, including monitoring student progression, academic requirements, licensing eligibility, and identifying students who may require additional support, surveys, and initiatives that enhance the student experience and support student success.
- Collect, analyze, and report student and program data to support decision-making, program evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate reporting, documentation, and compliance requirements related to professional, regulatory, government, and accreditation bodies, including NCLEX-RN and other licensing requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date program information, regulations, curriculum changes, and requirements across the Academic Calendar, website, and other University materials.
- Coordinate the procurement and implementation of equipment, supplies, technology, simulation resources, and other materials, including supplier relationships, training, and budget reporting.
- Coordinate student assistants and simulated patient actors,
as well as the School's participation in University, community, recruitment, career, and external events.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including University partners, professional and regulatory organizations, suppliers, prospective students, and community partners.
- Support the development of communications, promotional materials, website content, and recruitment initiatives in collaboration with the School of Nursing and University recruitment team.
What you'll need
Qualifications
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Health Sciences, Nursing, Education, Business, or a related field, with an understanding of health, academic, and/or professional regulatory requirements. A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
- Recent and relevant experience in an academic, health education, healthcare, or professional administrative environment.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, healthcare professionals, and external partners.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to a variety of audiences.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based software, databases, and data management tools.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a high degree of integrity and professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Knowledge of student advising, academic program administration, accreditation, or qualified regulatory requirements would be an asset.
