Civil Project Engineer for immediate employment in the Kitchener office. This is a new role and a great opportunity for an intermediate level Municipal Engineer with design experience who is seeking a role that allows them to expand their experience and responsibility. The appropriately qualified candidate will have a proven track record in design, design reviews, proposal writing, report writing, and client liaison with the experience and enthusiasm to enhance and grow a municipal design team.The successful candidate will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers primarily within the municipal water, wastewater and stormwater sector.
Lead municipal infrastructure design teams delivering complex water, wastewater, and transportation projects, including watermain, sewer, roadway, site servicing, pumping, storage, and distribution systems.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication,
technical expertise, and project delivery leadership.
Prepare technical documentation, proposals, reports, specifications, and project correspondence.
Support contract administration activities, including contractor coordination, progress reviews, payment certifications, and site meetings.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across regional offices to deliver high-quality solutions for clients.
Manage project budgets, financial controls, and delivery objectives.
Address contractor and public inquiries with professionalism and timely solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or equivalent)
4+ years of related working experience in municipal civil engineering design and AutoCAD
Design experience in surface grading, water and sewer pipe networks and detail design
Access to a vehicle and a valid ON driver's license to work in field or office
Experience in stormwater management, transportation infrastructure, land development, and site servicing design.
Experience with design of trenchless methods for installation of small and large diameter watermains and sewers
Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and water distribution modelling software.
Construction inspection and field experience.
Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment systems.
Certification such as PMP or related are an asset
Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment and work across both field and office settings.
