The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, development, and execution of key Musqueam led capital projects. This includes addressing immediate priorities for Housing on reserve land and supporting various funding applications.

The Project

Manager will also support the objectives outlined in the Musqueam Strategic Plan. The role requires close coordination with Musqueam departments, external contractors, and internal working groups to ensure the successful delivery of projects on MIB land.

Roles and Responsibilities Lead the planning and delivery of Musqueam-led capital projects from initiation through completion, ensuring timelines, scope, and budgets are met.

Effectively manage a small team and associated budget to ensure deliverables are met.

Coordinate priority projects as assigned.

Work closely with Musqueam departments, internal working groups, contractors, and consultants to support smooth project delivery on MIB land.

Support procurement and contract administration activities, including scopes of work, RFPs, deliverable tracking, and invoice review.

Prepare project updates, briefing notes, and reports for the Senior Director and leadership, aligned with the Strategic Plan.

Support funding applications and final reports by coordinating required documentation, schedules, budgets, and reporting requirements.

Monitor project risks, issues, and changes, and recommend solutions to maintain project progress and quality standards.

Maintain organized project documentation and ensure effective transition/close-out planning as projects advance.

Support MIB community events, to ensure high community turnout, and explicit educational context.

Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities A post-secondary degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Business, or Real Estate Development or related discipline.

Project Management Professional

Certification preferred.





Minimum 5-7 years of experience in similar fields, such as housing, real estate development, or working in an indigenous community, is considered an asset.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, as well as lead and develop the performance of others.

Excellent organizational, problem-solving, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills – including ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines to achieve sustainable results.

Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, and ability to use tact and good judgement in dealing with sensitive and complex issues.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - strong proficiency in conducting research and analyses, interpreting statistical data, and developing recommendations regarding complex planning and policy issues.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Office 365 Outlook), and publishing software (MS Publisher, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, and InDesign).

Demonstrated cultural competency, including familiarity with Musqueam community and its cultural traditions.

Working Conditions Work is performed in an office environment
