We are recruiting an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.NOTE:6-month contract that could be extended but no guaranteeAbility to work all three shifts is required, primarily the off shifts (midnights and afternoons)Ability work overtime including weekends and holidays when requiredRESPONSIBILITIES:Coach team members on Safety, Quality, and Productivity to ensure objectives are met by adhering to standardized workOptimize production throughput in alignment with budget and cost objectivesMonitor ANDON (a system to notify production issues) occurrences and serve as the initial responder for secondary supportVerify production line safe and smooth operation, and its output of quality parts, through Process ConfirmationSupport Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) initiatives and coach problem resolution at the lowest possible levelMeet targets for First Time Through (FTT), inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expensesBuild the capability of both Team Leaders and Team MembersCreate a conducive work environment that enables teams to complete their assigned responsibilities and tasksEnsure effective communication and recognition within the teamPerform basic administration of supervisory duties and documentationCreate process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processesREQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:1+ years' experience working with and supervising unionized workforce and understanding of CBA (collective bargaining agreement)Experience in body shop, stamping, paint, subassembly, or machining preferred.Safety and Quality experience preferredKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and constraint management principlesProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)Prior experience managing a unionized workforceComputer Numerical Control (CNC) machining experience (specific to Power TakeOff)Helium leak stand experience (specific to Power Take-Off)Adept problem-solving and conflict management skillsEffective organizational and administrative capabilitiesCOMPENSATION & PERKS:$35.00 - $40.00 hour (depending on experience)Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of workMEDA offers an excellent referral bonus.
