Position Summary The Protocol Specialist is the central point of contact for all protocol for the Musqueam Indian Band, and supports Chief and Council, Administration officials and Protocol spokespeople.
The Protocol
Specialist reports to the Communications and Marketing Manager.
Roles &
Responsibilities Conduit and contact for the Musqueam Indian Band for all protocol for Chief and Council and/or Administration official attendance at 3rd party functions and activities. Answer requests from phone calls, e-mails and letters in regard to protocol in a timely fashion. Coordinate all bookings with those assigned to attend.
Provide confirmations (internally and externally), develop and provide itineraries; develop and provide necessary briefing materials and talking points. Develop and maintain contact information logs and documentation. Provide assistance with bookings, reservations and travel arrangements where necessary (primarily for the Chief and Council).
Assist with the organization with invitation mail outs and attendance for and including, meetings, events and open houses Document control of fact sheets, newsletters, brochures, handouts, etc. Other related duties as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Completion of Grade 12 (High School) is preferred.
Experience as an executive assistant, receptionist, coordinator or relevant experience is an asset.
Musqueam Indian Band First Nation Member is an asset. Professional, reliable, proactive, and collaborative,
with a positive attitude and a demonstrated ability to meet responsibilities and deadlines.
Knowledge of internal and external communication strategies and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to prepare reports, presentations, correspondence, and briefing materials in a clear and engaging manner.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications or willingness to learn. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to use tact and good judgment. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Working Conditions The work is performed in an office environment.
