Your Opportunity:

Clinical Psychology Services (CPS) is a community clinic within Recovery Alberta, Edmonton, providing both assessment and treatment services to individuals experiencing complex mental health or concurrent substance use disorders. The clinic is located in the Garneau neighbourhood of Edmonton’s southside, with an additional site at the 108 Street Building. The successful applicant will work in a blended position, providing formal assessment and evidence-based group psychotherapy as a primary treatment. Currently a transdiagnostic group using Unified Protocol for Emotional Disorders along with a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Group for OCD are offered. There is also an prospect for individual psychotherapy provided on an as needed basis. Referrals for assessment are accepted from internal mental health and addiction providers (e.g., psychiatrists, therapists) from across the continuum of care for the purposes of diagnostic clarification and differential diagnosis, personality traits and profiles, intellectual and adaptive functioning, as well as cognitive and academic functioning. The incumbent will also be able to participate in service planning, evaluation, quality improvement initiatives, training and supervision of doctoral level psychology residents. The team is comprised of clinical psychologists, a neuropsychologist and administrative support offering dynamic opportunities for mentorship, peer consultation, collaboration,



and professional growth within a supportive and collegial environment. Clinical Psychology Services adheres to providing excellence in care, implementing routine outcome measurement, client centered care, collaboration between the care team and client, care that is trauma informed, concurrent disorder capable & recovery oriented.

Description:

As a Psychologist II, you will provide advanced clinical services (including psychological assessment, diagnosis and/or intervention), consultation and education to the interprofessional team and patients/families, and/or provides clinical leadership and coordination in an assigned program area. This is an advanced level psychology position that will allow you to work with or within teams to provide and inform services for patients with complex and multi-dimensional medical, psychological, interpersonal, environmental and/or instrumental needs. You will consult, collaborate, and enact initiatives to ensure that practices are evidence based and in alignment with psychology standards of practice and code of ethics, as well as policy, legislation and regulations. You will be expected to lead, facilitate and/or participate in program, policy, and procedure development, service planning, staff development, quality improvement and evaluation,



and/or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s). You may provide supervision to doctoral level psychology residents, master's level interns, provisional psychologists, psychometrists and other team members.

Required Qualifications: Completion of doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Heart and Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers. Experience in administration and interpretation of common assessment measures related to psychodiagnostic, personality and cognitive assessments is required. Minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience providing individual and/or group psychotherapy using an evidence-based modality.
