This role requires a valid Alberta driver's license and a reliable vehicle with current Alberta registration and Alberta insurance, as you may need to transport clients to community activities and other engagements.

We offer flexible shift start times Monday through Sunday. As a Respite & Centre for Supports Community Support Worker, you will play a key role in our support team by working directly with individuals with complex developmental disabilities. Your contributions will make a meaningful impact on their quality of life by engaging them in movement, sports, games, and outdoor activities.

Facilitate Fun and Dynamic Activities: Lead engaging, creative, and developmentally enriching activities that captivate imaginations, support learning, and foster social and emotional growth.

Personalized Support: Work closely with children, youth and adults, tailoring your approach to meet each individual's needs, and provide ongoing encouragement to help them thrive in a positive,



supportive environment.

Engage in Active Play: Participate in physical activities with them - running, jumping, bending, crouching - while ensuring a safe and energetic environment that encourages physical and motor skill development. Create a Fun, Learning-Focused Setting: Help cultivate an atmosphere where learning is fun, creativity is encouraged, and everyone feel safe, valued, and empowered to explore new skills. Take part in planned outings that enhance real-world experiences, offering new opportunities for growth outside the facility’s walls.

Advocacy: Support individuals by ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard, while promoting empowerment and respect for their choices.

Personal Care: Provide dignified personal care, including assistance with daily hygiene, dressing, and mobility, while managing medication and addressing health concerns.

Medical Support: Provide First Aid and administer medications as required to ensure their safety and well-being.

Goal Support: Help individuals pursue their goals in employment, skill development, and leisure activities, ensuring these align with their interests and aspirations.

Experience in Developmental Disabilities Support: At least 1-3 years of direct experience working with individuals with complex developmental disabilities (e.g., autism, intellectual disabilities, behavioral challenges). Demonstrated ability to support individuals in achieving personal goals and responding to behavioral needs, using adaptable and person-centered approaches.

Crisis Management: Skilled in de-escalation techniques and managing challenging behaviors.



Strong verbal/non-verbal communication skills to interact with children using alternative communication methods (e.g., Driving Credentials : A valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license, along with a personal vehicle that has current Alberta registration and $2 million in third-party liability insurance for client transport, may be required. A related degree or training in disabilities, sensory processing, and/or developmental assessments.

Current First

Aid and CPR certification (including pediatric care) is an asset.

Compensation: $17.50 per hour.
