Join the Impact Public Affairs team in Ottawa to gain valuable experience in government relations, public relations and communications. Through Impact's paid Internship Program, the successful candidate will work alongside our seasoned consultants, exposing them to a wide variety of industries and strategic work.Founded in 1997, Impact Public Affairs is a full-service government relations and communications firm based in Ottawa, with offices across Canada. No other public affairs firm has the depth of experience and track record of success in ensuring that our strategies allow organizations to deliver effective messages to government officials, the public, and key stakeholders.The successful candidate will be expected to work 40 hours a week.ResponsibilitiesSupport Impact's consultants with client work in a variety of different industriesContribute to brainstorming sessions during strategy developmentSupport written and oral communications with Parliament Hill for client events,
such as receptions or lobby daysAssist in communications through traditional media and social media campaigns in support of diverse objectivesProvide administrative assistance in coordination with the Office ManagerHelp in staffing events on and off Parliament HillQualifications/SkillsPassionate about politics and communicationsBasic knowledge of Canada's parliamentary systemOrganized and able to take on multiple tasks at the same timeAbility to adapt to changing circumstances and objectivesAble to work effectively in a team settingReliable, punctual and efficientAvailable to work occasionally outside normal working hoursBilingualism an assetEducation and ExperienceRecently graduated from a post-secondary institutionExperience working or volunteering on Parliament Hill, in campaigns and/or in communicationsExperience in an office setting in a similar role #J-18808-Ljbffr
