Robotics Hardware Engineer / Mechatronics Engineer Hamilton, ON · Canada Full Time Hardware team We are looking for a Robotics Hardware Engineer / Mechatronics Engineer to design, prototype, and validate the hardware systems that power ROZOR robots, end-to-end mechanical assemblies, electronics integration, actuator systems, and sensor mounting.
Responsibilities - Design mechanical components, chassis structures, mounts, and sensor housings.
- Develop and integrate electronic systems: PCBs, wiring harnesses, power distribution, motor controllers.
- Select and configure actuators, motors, gearboxes, and drivetrain components.
- Integrate cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, ultrasonic sensors, depth sensors, and compute units.
- Perform prototyping, 3D printing, machining, and iterative hardware testing.
- Collaborate with embedded and autonomy teams.
- Conduct mechanical and environmental stress tests.
- Optimize hardware for manufacturability, assembly, and field serviceability.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues during development and deployment.
- Support field testing, reliability improvements, and design revisions. What you bring - Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years experience in robotics, mechatronics, or hardware development.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, etc.).
- Experience designing mechanical assemblies for motion systems.
- Solid understanding of sensors, motors, and electronics integration.
- Ability to read schematics and collaborate with electrical teams.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and hands-on fabrication.
- Knowledge of material selection, tolerancing, and DFM principles.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in hardware environments.
