Position Summary
St. Thomas Nissan, a member of the Arora Auto Group, is looking for a motivated, customer-focused Sales Consultant to join our team.
The Sales Consultant is responsible for managing all aspects of the new and used vehicle sales process, from the initial customer interaction through the point of sale and beyond. The successful candidate will be passionate about building long-term customer relationships, developing brand loyalty, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
The ideal candidate is an expert listener, detail-oriented, results-driven, and committed to continuously developing their product knowledge and sales skills. As a team player, the Sales Consultant will work collaboratively with all departments of the dealership to achieve both individual and dealership goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and Maintain Strong Customer Relationships
Greet customers promptly in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
Listen carefully to customers' needs and identify appropriate solutions.
Assist customers in understanding available vehicle options and selecting the vehicle that best meets their needs.
Develop and maintain a customer base through effective prospecting and follow-up.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all customer interactions.
Respond to customer questions and concerns with a genuine commitment to finding solutions.
Conduct prospecting calls and follow up with customers within established timelines.
Build long-term relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
Demonstrate Attention to Detail
Listen to and document customer needs, expectations, and preferences throughout the sales process.
Follow up with customers using communication methods that best suit their preferences.
Prepare for vehicle deliveries and ensure all delivery requirements are completed accurately.
Ensure all sales documentation and paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Review sales activities regularly to identify opportunities to improve productivity and time management.
Ensure customer information and sales activities are accurately maintained in the dealership's systems.
Represent and Support the Dealership Brand
Participate in and successfully complete all required dealership training programs.
Develop and maintain strong product knowledge, including vehicle features, technology, options, and benefits.
Stay informed about new products, promotions, incentives, specials, and dealership updates.
Consistently represent the dealership brand in a professional and positive manner.
Deliver a high level of customer service throughout every stage of the customer experience.
Maintain clean, organized, and professional personal and team workspaces.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Maintain Industry and Competitive Knowledge
Maintain current knowledge of Nissan products, accessories, pricing, features, and available programs.
Stay informed about competing products, pricing, features, and market trends.
Continuously develop automotive product and industry knowledge to better serve customers.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
Ability to work evening and weekend shifts as scheduled.
Education & Experience
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
College diploma, certificate, or additional relevant coursework is considered an asset.
Previous automotive sales experience is considered an asset.
Previous retail, customer service, or sales experience is considered an asset.
Must hold the applicable provincial automotive sales licence as required by the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act (MVDA) and OMVIC, where applicable.
