Foreman – RM of Marquis
The RM of Marquis No.191 (located 20 minutes NW of Moose Jaw) is seeking applications for the position of Foreman. We are looking for a motivated, experienced leader who is committed to maintaining our municipal infrastructure and leading our public works team.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Public Works Department.
Schedule and oversee road maintenance, grading, snow removal, drainage, mowing, and other municipal projects.
Operate and maintain heavy equipment as required.
Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of municipal equipment and facilities.
Monitor equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs.
Assist with budgeting, purchasing, and inventory of materials and supplies.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and municipal policies.
Work closely with Council and the Administrator to establish priorities and complete municipal projects.
Respond to emergencies and after-hours situations when required.
Supervise, train, and evaluate Public Works employees.
Qualifications
Experience in municipal public works or a related field.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of road construction and maintenance practices.
Experience operating heavy equipment.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 1A is considered an asset).
Robust organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Mechanical knowledge is considered an asset.
