Transdev Canada is hiring a Depot Manager for our Richmond, BC location.

Transdev Canada is seeking an experienced Depot Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Richmond Depot. In this leadership role, you will oversee frontline operations, supervise a team of Road Supervisors, Check-in Clerks, and Drivers, and ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of transit services. You will play a key role in workforce planning, employee engagement, customer service, regulatory compliance, and operational performance while fostering a strong culture of safety and accountability.

Your Role

Promotes Safety as a core value at all times. Communicates and positively promotes the Company vision, values and culture

Assumes first line supervision of location employees including Road Supervisors, Check-in-Clerks and Drivers. Ensures company policies and procedures are followed.

Processes and audits employee payroll on E‑time.

Ensures driver shift coverage, including AV, sick leave and time off requests. Conducts annual vacation and shift sign ups twice per year.

Works closely with Trip Coordination (Call Centre) to ensure daily staffing goals are achieved. Minimizes driver labour shortage. Efficiently uses standby drivers. Responsible for delegation of daily shift assignments.

Ensures drivers have the daily documentation necessary to complete their routes. Ensures vehicles dispatched are in proper working condition and daily DVI (pre‑ and post‑trip) forms have been submitted. Ensures that service leaves the gate on time.

Ensures all safety documentation is completed and forwarded to the Safety Department in a timely manner. Participates in the Safety Solutions Team as required.

Tracks and maintains employee attendance system, processes driver and operations staff vacation requests.



Maintains/orders necessary driver and staff uniforms.

Responds to customer complaints and conducts investigations. Fosters strong customer relationships by effective and consistent communications and the desire to exceed client expectations.

Leads employee investigations and conducts root cause analysis. Drives employee engagement and recognition. Coaches, trains and mentors employees.

Recommends and disciplines operations personnel. Interviews and assesses drivers and staff.

Coordinates with maintenance to ensure availability of fleet to complete service.

Completes necessary daily and/or weekly reports for company and customer.

Provides accurate and timely operational and financial reporting as required.

Ensures compliance with corporate policies, processes and procedures, as well as reporting requirements according to federal and provincial regulations.

Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Your Profile

Bachelor’s degree in business, Transportation, Operations Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation, transit, logistics,



or a similar operational environment

Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience

Experience working in a unionized environment

Strong understanding of transportation operations, workforce planning, and employee scheduling

Demonstrating commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance

Experience managing payroll, attendance, and operational reporting

Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop employees while maintaining performance and employee relations

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills

Excellent organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple competing demands

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word

Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgement in a fast‑paced environment

Your Location:

Full‑time, on‑site position based in Richmond, BC

40 hours per week

Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as operationally required

Travel throughout the HandyDART service area may be required
