About the Role
The Marine Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plumbing and piping systems on vessels and marine structures. This role requires strong technical expertise in marine plumbing systems, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Marine Plumber works collaboratively with other trades to support new builds, refits, and repair projects.

Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair marine plumbing and piping systems including potable water, grey water, black water, bilge, fuel, and hydraulic lines
Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
Fabricate, fit,
and install piping systems using materials such as copper, stainless steel, aluminum, PVC, PEX, and hoses
Install and service pumps, tanks, valves, fittings, water heaters, and plumbing fixtures
Diagnose plumbing system issues and perform corrective repairs
Pressure test and commission plumbing systems in accordance with specifications and standards
Ensure installations comply with marine standards, codes, and manufacturer requirements
Coordinate work with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to meet project schedulesIdentify material, tooling, and equipment requirements in advance
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety meetings
Complete required documentation, inspections, and work reports
Qualifications
Journeyperson Plumber certification or equivalent experience
Marine plumbing experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of marine plumbing systems and materials
Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings and schematics
Experience with pressure testing and commissioning systems
Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and monitor areas for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry firefighting equipment as required

Shop and shipyard environments
Exposure to noise, heat, dust, and mechanical hazards
Overtime or shift work may be required based on operational needs
